Singapore-based craft beer importer The Drinkery, which specializes in American beers, is certainly looking ambitious. Although it only started operations early this year by bringing in brands such as Lost Coast and Modern Times, as well as ciders from Ace Cider, it’s confirmed that it has earlier this month landed a new shipment that includes beers from San Diego’s Green Flash Brewing and Auburn, California’s Knee Deep Brewingsignaling its intention of being the largest importer of American craft beers in the Singapore market.

First founded in 2002 in Vista, California by Mike and Lisa Hinkley (pictured above), Green Flash Brewing moved to its current location in 2011 and has since entrenched its reputation as one of the most well-regarded breweries in San Diego and the greater craft beer community in the rest of America under the guidance of head brewer Chuck Silva. The brewery – which is largely focused on IPAs – has a capacity of 45,000 barrels a year and its beers are currently distributed in around 17 states across the United States. It is most well known for its West Coast IPA, a classic American West Coast style IPA, which The Drinkery has confirmed it will be bringing in, alongside the Double Stout, Hop Head Red, Imperial IPA, Road Warrior and Le Freak. Unfortunately its renown Palate Wrecker didn’t make this initial shipment, but is likely to come in future ones.

Knee Deep Brewing, on the other hand, is far newer. First started in June 2010 by brewmaster Jeremy Warren (who has been brewing since 2006), Knee Deep Brewing started by contract brewing at Mt. Tallac Brewing in Lake Tahoe and selling kegs in the Northern Nevada market.  By fall that year Warren met Jerry Moore (now CEO & Janitor) met and decided to work together, and finally leased the former Beermann’s Brewery in Lincoln, CA for their operations. Its Hoptologist double IPA recently took the Gold Medal this year at The Bistro 14th Annual DIPA Festival, which The Drinkery will be bringing in this shipment together with the Hoparillo, Hop Shortage, Hoptologist, Simtra and Tanilla.

Some of these beers should already be on shelves at reputable craft beer outlets and bars.
