If you love your wines but missed out on SAVOUR Wines last month, fret not – October is the month for you. Because on the cards are not just three – as was with last year – but four large-scale wine events held over two weekends this month.

Between the upcoming Wine Fiesta 2016, Wine Discovery Weekend, Winefamily Gathering and Matter of Taste – and this is not counting the slew of smaller scattered events throughout the month – your October promises to be a very wine-soaked one.

But if you can’t possibly squeeze out the time to attend all of them, here’s a lowdown of the four major wine events so you know which are worth to spend your money and liver on:

1. Winefamily Gathering 2016, 15 October.

Online wine retail site Winefamily will be holding its Winefamily Gathering event, an annual wine fair that showcases the portfolio of wines offered by the various participating wine merchants on its online wine marketplace.

Last year’s affair was a larger one held over three days, but this year it’s scaled to a single day on 15 October. This year’s edition is also the first time Winefamily will be hosting this event after its merger with fellow online wine merchant Wanderwine earlier this year. Still it will see over 100 boutique and premium wines from all around the world for tasting, with each ticket allowing one free sample of every wine, an individual cheese and cold cuts platter, one full pour, as well as a $10 voucher to spend on wines to take home.

Tickets are $45 for the 11am to 3pm session, and $50 for the 4-8pm (including entry to the afterparty). You can purchase your tickets here.

2. Wine Discovery Weekend, 15-17 October.

Ewineasia.com, a subsidiary of wine importer and distributor Alfa International, will be organising its fourth-ever Wine Discovery Weekend, anchored by its special wine discovery walkabout tasting event on Saturday 15 October from 11am to 5pm at APS Lifestyle (9 Muthuraman Chetty Road).

Likewise this event will have over 100 wines to taste, including the likes of Boizel (France), Isole e Olena (Italy), Emilio Moro (Spain), Mt Difficulty (New Zealand), and Miles from Nowhere (Australia).

Tickets for the walkabout tasting are $45 per person – you can purchase them here.

Also held as part of the wine discovery weekend are a series of wine dinners, such as a Szechuan food and wine pairing dinner at Shisen Hanten, a wine-filled dim sum brunch at Cherry Garden, and a Latin world wine discovery dinner at Skirt.

3. Wine Fiesta 2016, 20-23 October.

Presented by regional wine importer and distributor The Straits Wine Company for the ninth year running, Wine Fiesta 2016 will take place from 21 to 23 October at Clifford Square (besides the Fullerton Bay Hotel) and will showcase over 350 wine labels from 70 winemakers from around the world to delight wine enthusiasts of any level.

This year’s theme is ‘Rising Roots’, a tribute to the growing trend of natural sustainable and artisanal winemaking. Of particular interest would be wines from Basket Range, a burgeoning community in the field of organic wine set in Adelaide Hills, South Australia. Wine Fiesta 2016 will see four of the winemakers from the area – Lucy Margaux, Ochota Barrels, BK Wines and Commune of Buttons – attend the event for the first time.

As was with last year Wine Fiesta 2016 will again see a spread of gastronomic delights, this time from seven renown Singapore-based chefs – from Tin Hill Social, Morsels, Cheek by Jowl, Tamarind Hill, Meatsmith, Burnt Ends, and Good Chance Popiah – each presenting three original dishes created specially for the event.

Tickets for Wine Fiesta 2016 are $50 per ticket and can be purchased here.

Kicking off proceedings on 20 October will be an exclusive winemaker’s table dinner which will offer diners the rare opportunity to sample 75 iconic wines and vintages with the winemakers attending the wine tasting festival.

4. Wine Advocate Matter of Taste 2016, 22 October.
