Penfolds Wine Dinner with Peter Gago and Patrick Dowling

To celebrate the launch of the new Penfolds 2016 Collection, Penfolds will be hosting a wine dinner at the Grand Hyatt Singapore Mezza9 on 15 November 2016.

The dinner will be hosted by renowned Penfolds Chief Winemaker Peter Gago, as well as Penfolds Winemaking Ambassador Patrick Dowling.

Guests can look forward to a five-course meal specially designed for The Collection — on the menu for the night are eight of Penfold’s most recognised and celebrated wines, including the 2012 Grange Shiraz, which was awarded a perfect score by Andrew Caillard, MW.

Highlights of the meal include a starter of sustainable seafood platter featuring the best of Australian seafood such as Australian rock oysters, Tasmanian scallops, Spencer Gulf wild king prawns and South Australian blue swimmer crab. This ensemble will be paired with the 2015 Reserve Bin A Adelaide Hills Chardonnay, which was recently named Australia’s best Chardonnay in the 2016 James Halliday Chardonnay Challenge, along with the well-received Bin 311 Tumbarumba Chardonnay.

The main course features the pairing of the award-winning 2014 Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2013 Penfolds St Henri Shiraz Bin 407, with a slow-roasted Australian Wagyu Beef ‘Wellington’ encased in a chicken and tarragon pâté and flaky puff pastry served with Heirloom Carrots & Beets and a Truffle Bordelaise Sauce.

And then there’s the star of the night, the highly anticipated Penfolds Grange, which will be served with a luxurious cheese course featuring a baked Mont d’Or cheese with generous shavings of black truffle. To round off the evening, a decadent dessert spread of various dark chocolate creations made with artisan dark chocolate by Vietnamese chocolatiers ‘Marou Chocolate’ will be served.

Early birds who book before 30 October 2016 will receive a bottle of Penfolds Bin 8 and a copy of the book Rewards of Patience (valued at S$80) signed by Peter Gago.
