SAVOUR 2016

May 12, 2016 - May 15, 2016

Gourmet festival SAVOUR is back for its 2016 edition this year, and will run from 12 May to 15 May across six different sessions at Bayfront Avenue next to Marina Bay Sands Exhibition Centre.

Focused on the best of gourmet experiences, highlights this year include the alfresco Gourmet Village with its stellar lineup of restaurants, themed bars and live music, as well as the always-popular Gourmet Market, which showcases exceptional products from around the world. There will be food booths by Artichoke, Buona Terra, CATO, Gattopardo, Labyrinth and Salt Tapas and Bar, for example.

What may specifically interest SpiritedSingapore readers is L’Espace Martell by ‘Official Cognac’ Martell, the cognac brand’s experiential space that will see a full-service bar will serve up Martell cognacs and exquisite cocktails to complementing the haute cuisine presented there by “Demon Chef” Alvin Leung of Hong Kong’s three Michelin-starred Bo Innovation and his protégé Eric Chong, winner of the first MasterChef Canada. Make sure you also sign up for the Martell Gourmet Passport (here), which entitles you the opportunity to vote for your favourite dishes to help select the winner of Martell Projects: Chef as well as a complimentary tasting portion of Martell Cordon Bleu when they try one of the dishes in Martell Projects: Chef (additional tastings of Martell Cordon Bleu available at $6 each).

Wine lovers may also be keen to know that gourmet grocer Jasons will also be present at SAVOUR’s Gourmet Market, showcasing a curated range of wines from around the world. For example, from France you can expect to see the likes of Blason de Bourgogne and John Bouchard from Burgundy, Petit Chateau from various Bordeaux chateaux, Beamount des Crayeres of Champagne, as well as Khulmann and Fleischer from Alsace. There’s also Castello di Olivetto from Italy, and closer to home there’s Purple Hands from Australia’s Barossa Valley. An interesting new product to check out is wild blueberry wine of Blue Sauvage, made with berries grown in China’s Heilongjiang province. It would be a great lead-in to SAVOUR Wine in September later this year.
